LYN AND RYAN | Museum of Art Wedding Balboa Park

With all the holidays and a recent birthday (Jeannette!) we have sadly been neglecting our blog. So much so that we are just now getting around to sharing one of our very favorite weddings from 2011. It was an all around fabulous wedding! First off, this was our first time photographing at the sculpture gardens at the Museum of Arts. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much but on the inside, WOW! I felt like we were in a grand hotel ballroom complete with columns and classic black & white tiled floors. Second, we worked with a awesome bunch of folks! From the delicious food to the super cute frogs as cake toppers down to the gorgeous flowers….everything looked so beautiful! Third and most important, Ryan & Lyn two of the warmest people we’ve ever met who were full of laughter and tears of joy and just made the day so much fun to be a part of!

MATT & COURTNEY | Lodge at Torrey Pines Wedding

There are so many things we loved about Matt & Courtney’s wedding. Since it’s almost Christmas and I’m in a listing mood…i’ll write a list of the top 10 things i thought made their day memorable & unique!

1. Absolutely gorgeous couple who are madly in love
2. Gorgeous bridesmaids in stunning blue dresses!
3. The Goldens, especially Cade in his bagger vance outfit!
4. Matt had the BEST best man ever, his dad!
5. Fantastic scenery
6. Amazing florals by Jennifer Cole!
7. Cake by Sweet Cheeks! Yes, please!
8. Fanciest candy station we’ve ever seen!
9. Courtney’s dad speech stressing the vastness of the desert.
10. And last but not least, phantom jump rope dance!!!! AWESOME!!!

BRAD & CHRISTINE | Abbey Wedding

We can’t tell you enough how crazy we are about Brad & Christine. Truly two of the funniest, sweetest and most genuine couples we know. Okay, so maybe Christine is the funny one and Brad is the shy one! Nevertheless, these two are meant for each other and it was evident throughout the day just by the way they looked each other or snuck kisses when they thought no one was looking.

On their wedding day we also got to see Benny & Cheryl (one of our past couples) and Eileen & Ryan (one of our future couples). So now we can say that we had the past, present and future of Trailbrook Photography all in one place! Wow. That was corny but i like it!

NATE & LINDA | Catamaran Wedding

I have to begin by saying that I am in love with Linda’s dress. Everywhere we went people stopped to compliment her dress so I definitely was not the only one! In addition, Linda did her own hair & make-up which came out incredible!

On their wedding day we were blessed with an amazing couple with incredible style & undeniable chemistry, a beautiful sunset, a crowdful of wild & crazy dancers and a perfect team of vendors. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to be a part of!

TOMMY & SUZY | Lakeside Golf Club Wedding

Tommy & Suzy were married at the Lakeside Golf Club in Toluca Lake, by far one of the prettiest communities I’ve seen! I know we say this a lot but we really are blessed to have jobs that allow us to see beautiful places and meet people who are beautiful inside & out. That’s Suzy & Tommy…just two of the EASIEST people to be around! Not to mention their family & friends who were also super nice and all had something i truly admire….a sense of humor! There was a lot of laughter on their day…a sprinkle of tears here & there…excellent food…excellent music…it was perfect!

GLENN & DARLENE | Franciscan Gardens Wedding

October 28, 2011 – 3:28 am

Darlene & Glenn’s wedding was amazing on so many levels that i can’t even think where to begin. First of all, they did everything THEMSELVES! say what?!?! yeah, it’s true. From finding vintage cake stands and plates and painting them white to create a modern, cohesive feel to hanging cloth poms all they way down to their kicks for the day….grey & yellow custom chuck taylors (okay, so maybe they didn’t make these but they designed them! ) no detail was spared!

on top of that we were able to see 4 of our past clients again (something we ALWAYS love), witness some pretty spectacular dance moves, eat delicious tacos from a late night food truck that they commissioned and above all, document so many touching, tearful & hilarious moments!

it was blast and we are so lucky to be a part of it all!

ADRIAN & CANDIS | Pearl Banquet Wedding

There are so many things that I admire about Candis & Adrian…their generosity, their dedication to each other, their carefreeness (that probably isn’t a word! )…the list goes on and on. throughout the day adrian would just admire candis while candis worked her sparkling personality. and we couldn’t help but admire her too!

Candis & Adrian — you guys are so beautiful! congrats on such a perfect day! look forward to showing you ALL your pics! see you guys soon!

Candis & Adrian had the best sermon at their wedding. The priest compared marriage to chewing gum….delicious & flavorful at first but after time it gets old and dull. he, of course, said to try to avoid feeling this way. everyone was cracking up!

but with laughter comes tears and i lost it when i saw adrian crying happy tears…happy, we found out later, to be a part of candis’ amazing family and start a family of his own.

KATIE & DAVIN | Ultimate Skybox Wedding

October 8, 2011 – 1:38 am

You know when you meet a couple and you just know they are meant for each other? That’s Davin & Katie. They both have an incredibly calm nature and, as can be attested by all their friends & family, are extremely generous and selfless.

Their wedding ceremony took place at the Embarcadero and their reception at the Ultimate Skybox both of which was a first for us! The set up was classy yet casual with open seating and super chic lounge furniture. I loved the set up! Lots of mingling & tons of room to dance! And believe me…there was some serious dancing going on! Oh, and they also attached $50 to the bouquet & garter to ensure maximum participation. I’ve seen $5 even $20…but never $50. I told you they are generous!

We were so honored to be a part of their day and I seriously could have gotten paid with grilled cheese sandwiches and tater tots from Davin’s restaurant & bar, The Corner Bar. So delicious!

Davin wrote a poem for Katie as his wedding gift. It was definitely a tear jerker!

ROBIN & TRI | Calamigos Ranch Wedding, Malibu, CA

This was our first time shooting at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu and let me tell you…it’s a photographer’s dream! Then again we also had a dream couple who throughout the day continued to amaze us by their endless patience, kindness and downright coolness!

I mean how many brides would just laugh off a sudden “mysterious illness” by a fellow groomsman? wink wink And how many grooms can actually build a card house AND make their own wedding band? None that we know of so far.

We had the best time at their wedding and were super thrilled to see Jennifer, one of our past brides, again!

Robin & Tri — We would not be surprised if you guys rented a Maserati and sped down the Amalfi Coast on your honeymoon after seeing Tri’s toys in the garage. Hope you had the best time! See you guys soon!

RICHARD & COURTNEY | Encinitas Ranch Wedding

Richard & Courtney had an AMAZING wedding at a private ranch in Encinitas. When we arrived at the ranch, our jaws dropped. Th setting and all the details were simply stunning. But more importantly, Rich & Courtney were beaming and all their friends and family shared in their excitement and happiness! It was truly a spectacular day and we are so excited that we were there to witness it all.
